Robot Kits

One of the most popular types of kits are Robot Kits. Here are some of the main advantages of these kits.

Robot Kits are the most exciting and educational kits out there. Our belief is that robot kits are the most exciting type of science kit. We know that the rest of the world agrees, judging from the large number of websites dedicated to selling these kits. Try searching the net and see for yourself. We've spent hours looking for the best deals (one of our team members, Kenny, simply loves these kits!).

Robot kits and books help teach children of all ages the principles of science and physics involved in building intelligent robots that can walk, run, feel their way around the house without bumping into things. These robots can crawl like spiders, follow trails, battle each other, sumo wrestle ... the list goes on and on. By building a robot, your kid will learn principles of engineering, electricity, electronics, mechanical movement, logic processing, power generation and consumption and much more.

Robot kits tend to be more "interactive" and engaging than other science kits . Some robot kits are even more amazing. They come with user-friendly computer software designed for your child to easily run on the home PC. This software will actually allow your kid to tell his pet robot a list of commands, such as to make left and right turns, reverse, make sound effects, pause, adjust sensor settings and motor speeds! With a few clicks of a mouse, your kid can actually get a taste of what it's like to be a Robotics scientist. That, to us, is a really great way to excite and inspire your child!

The LEGO MindStorms Robotics Invention System is the best robot kit that's available today (in our opinion). It has everything we've just talked about and more. In fact, this kit, made by one of the world's most successful educational toy maker.  It's an all-in-one kit that is easy enough for kids, but powerful enough for high school and university-level students to make really impressive use of it. The box contains over 700 LEGO parts, including the Mindstorms software CD-ROM, a clear and well-written builder's guide, motors, touch sensors and a light sensor. You'll be guided step-by-step in building seven different robots. You'll also get to learn simple computer programming in order to get robots to perform amazingly complex tasks! Truly and all-in-one solution for bringing out the Robotics or Computer scientist in your kid!

As a side note: another team member, Eddy, spoke to a senior Mechanical Engineer at a well-known American company. The Engineer was so impressed by the kit that he even ordered one for himself to experiment with!

We'll personally vouch for how addictive robot kits can become! And at the end of the day, that's really the best part - when you're experimenting with a robot kit, you don't feel like its an experiment. It becomes a hobby, and a passion. It makes the study of science so much fun.

If you want to find out more about the LEGO MindStorms Robotics Invention System, or other robot kits, we suggest Hobbytron. We like buying our kits from Hobbytron because they offer secure shopping, they have the widest range of kits, and are usually at least 10% cheaper than other stores .

Please support our website by clicking on this link "LEGO MindStorms Robotics Invention System" to buy a kit from Hobbytron. By doing so, Hobbytron will give us a referral fee that will contribute towards running our website.

Happy Experimenting and thank you for your support!
