Description | ||
| Several other factors besides enzyme concentration can affect the rate and efficiency of enzymatic reactions, including pH, temperature, and the presence or absence of the cofactors or enzymatic inhibitors we discussed in class. In this lab, we will investigate how these factors affect enzymatic reactions by observing the effect of the two enzymes (catechol oxidase and amylase) on their respective substrates (catechol and starch). Note how the names of enzymes usually end in an -ase. | ||
