Germany introduced the D-9 version of the famous Focke-Wulf 190 to the Luftwaffe in August 1944. Although pilots of the "Dora-9" quickly mastered its capabilities its arrival was too late to spare the Axis. In the closing months of the war the Fw 190D proved itself a match for any Allied fighter encountered in combat.
