  2. A branch of artificial intelligence dealing with training neural networks using not only the statistical estimation of data, but combining it with specific domain knowledge .

At this time it is not clear if the so-called AI community is trending toward using the 'Adaptive Intelligence' label to replace 'Artificial Intelligence' to describe the 'Machine Intelligence' goal.
