Etymology
Comes from the sound chip name Sony SPC700
Meaning
A sound data file, akin to MIDI, directly copied from a Super Famicom or Super Nintendo Entertainment System game, especially through the ZSNES emulator, and usually played through Winamp plugin SNESAmp. SPC700 sound format or file. Often called an SPC.
