  1. SSTH is the acronym given to Super Slender Twin Hull. This describes a catamaran with very slender hulls which are designed to reduce wake wash and increase passenger comfort. These boats are generally intended to be fast moving ferries, both ocean-going and operating close to shore. However these boats are still considered somewhat experimental .
