Table of contents

English

Pronoun

space (uncountable and countable; plural: spaces )

  1. The intervening contents of a volume.
  2. The area beyond a planet's atmosphere that consists of a vacuum.
  3. White area between written characters; blank.
  4. A set of points, each of which is uniquely specified by a set of coordinates. The number of coordinates specifying a point and the number of mutually perpendicular axes along which the coordinates lie are the same, and that is the number of dimensions of the space.
We live in a space that has at least four dimensions: up-down, left-right, forward-backward, and future-past.
