1913 Atlantic hurricane season
The 1913 Atlantic hurricane season was an ongoing event in the annual cycle of tropical cyclone formation. It officially began on June 1, 1913 and ended on November 30, 1913.
The 1913 season was a quiet one. Only four tropical cyclones formed during the season. All but one became hurricanes. The first storm of the season was Category 2 hurricane that struck Cancun,Mexico and Padre Island , Texas. This storm caused major flooding and killed one person. The second was a Category 1 that came ashore near Cape Lookout, North Carolina . Though the storm was fairly weak, it still caused heavy damage along the shoreline and two people were killed. The third was another Category 2 that stayed out to sea. The last storm of the season was a tropical storm that hit Charleston, South Carolina. Damage from this storm was minimal.
