1918 Atlantic hurricane season
The 1918 Atlantic hurricane season was an ongoing event in the annual cycle of tropical cyclone formation. It officially began on June 1, 1918 and ended on November 30, 1918.
The 1918 season was a quiet season. Only five tropical cyclones formed during the course of the year. Three of them were hurricanes, but none of those were major hurricanes. The strongest storm of the season was a strong Category 2 that made landfall near Cameron, Louisiana. A tropical storm hit North Carolina and another hit Nova Scotia after grazing Bermuda as a weak Category 2 hurricane. The season ended in mid-September after a tropical storm died in the open Atlantic after hitting Hispaniola.
