1968 Atlantic hurricane season

The 1968 Atlantic hurricane season was an ongoing event in the annual cycle of tropical cyclone formation. It officially started June 1, 1968, and lasted until November 30, 1968.

1968 was a quiet season, and the storms that did form caused only minimal damage. The United States had an early start, though, with Abby, Brenda, and Candy hitting in June. Hurricanes Abby and Gladys are credited with helping to break a drought in the southeastern United States.
