7-Up Gold
Test marketed during the 1980s, 7-Up Gold was a variety of the popular 7-Up soft drink brand.
Although heavily promoted in certain markets with aggressive television advertising (notably scored with the Rock and roll anthem "Wild Thing" by the Troggs), the product was not deemed a success and never gained wide acceptance.
For other spinoffs launched during the cola wars, compare Crystal Pepsi; New Coke. See also: List of major flops.
