A1 (band)


a1 was a British boy band, made up of Mark Read , Paul Marazzi , Ben Adams and Christian Ingebrigsten (from Norway). The band released its first single in 1999, which entered the British charts at number six. In autumn 2000 they scored two number one hits within nine weeks: Take On Me and Same Old Brand New You. The band writes their own songs and play musical instrutments. Mark plays the piano and drum, Ben plays the piano and Christian plays the piano and guitar.

In 2001 they won a Brit Award as British breakthrough act of the year. Paul Marazzi left the band in October 8, 2002 because some personal thing, and the other band members decided also to do their own things.
