AM New York
AM New York is a free daily newspaper that is read most often on the way to work by commuters who don't want to pay for other newspapers such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and the New York Post.
Many cities offer such free or inexpensive condensed versions of the daily paper. New York City has a competitor publication, Metro, which is also published around the world. The Washington Post publishes Express. And the Chicago Tribune publishes Red Eye.
This phenomenon is fairly established. Presstime featured an article[1] about the concept in 2000.
