A Man in Full is a novel by Tom Wolfe, published in 1998 by Farrar, Straus & Giroux. This 744-page satire takes on a high flying real estate mogul amid the intricate social dynamics of Atlanta, the vibrant capital of the New South.
Caricatures of former city mayor Maynard Jackson as Roger White and renowned developer John Portman as protagonist Charlie Croker prove entertaining yet disclose the imposture as a literary Lost Cause. Reflecting his own Confederate roots, Wolfe delivers his peculiar brand of bonfire to Dixie and then beats a hasty retreat.
