A Pocketful of Rye
A Pocketful of Rye is a novel by A. J. Cronin (1969) about a young Scottish doctor, Carrol, and his life in Switzerland.
As with several of his other novels, Cronin drew on his own experiences as a doctor for this book. The title comes from the children's nursery rhyme "Sing a song of sixpence".
