Academia de Studii Economice
The Academy for Economic Studies (ASE) is the oldest university of economics in Romania. Founded in 1913 in Bucharest it remains the largest economical high education school in the country.
In addition to the 7 economical specialisations (faculties):
- CIG (Accounting)
- MAN (Management)
- MARK (Marketing)
- COM (Commerce)
- REI (International Economic Relations)
- SELS (Economic Studies in Foreign Languages)
- ECG (General Economics)
- EAM (Environmental and Agricultural Management)
There are two other specialisations:
- CSIE (Cybernetics and Informatics)
- MAP (Public Administration).
The number of students ranges to approximately 15,000. It is one of the most desired university in Romania, with a number of around 34,000 new applications each year (9% admission rate for State paid seats and 11% admission for fee-paid seats). Alongside the faculties in Bucharest, a number of departments function in other cities: Giurgiu, Alexandria, Blaj, Ploiesti and Tulcea and Ruse in Bulgaria.
