Aftermath (album)

Aftermath was the name of the fourth UK and sixth US album by The Rolling Stones, first released in 1966.

The principal difference between the two albums was the inclusion in the US version of the hit single "Paint It, Black", and the removal from that version of "Mother's Little Helper" and three other songs.

The album was notable for its musical experimentation, with Brian Jones playing a variety of instruments, including the sitar on "Paint It, Black" and the dulcimer on "Lady Jane" and "I Am Waiting," as well as for the misogyny of such songs as "Stupid Girl", "Under My Thumb", and "Out of Time".

In August 2002 this album was reissued in a new remastered and SACD digipak by ABKCO with the rest of their Decca/London catalog, originally released in the 1960s and early 1970s.

It is ranked at number 108 on the List of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
