Aiguillon
Auguillon (French Aiguillón) is a city and commune in France, in the Lot-et-Garonne département, Agen district, near the two rivers that give name to the département.
History
Attached to the English crown in 1318 was conquered by Du Guesclin in 1370. In 1599 was converted in center of a duchy.
Dukes of Aiguillon (list):
Incorporated to the French crown 1621-1638. Richelieu purchased this dukedom in 1638 and give it to the daughter of René Vignerot and his wife Francoise du Plessis (sister of Richeluieu):
- Marie Madaleine De Vignerot De Plessis 1638-1675
- Terese d'Aiguillon 1675-1731 (niece of Marie Madaleine)
- Armand I d'Aiguillon 1731-1750 (nephew of Terese)
- Emmanuel Armand 1750-1782 (son of Armand)
- Armand II d'Aiguillon 1782-1789 (son of Emmanuel Armand)
