Air Battle Manager Badge
The Air Battle Manage Badge is a decoration of the United States Air Force which is issued to officers who have been trained and qualified for airborne command and control, air traffic control, electronic warfare, and airborne weapons capabilities. The badge was first proposed in 1990 and was first issued to Air Force officers in 1995.
The Air Battle Manage Badge is considered a successor decoration to the Officer Aircrew Badge and is intended for those officers who are posted to inflight duties onboard Air Force command planes, such as the AWACS planes. Qualified Air Battle Managers are also assigned to the Air Force Space Command as well as postings at NORAD and onboard Air Force One.
The Air Battle Manage Badge is issued in three degrees being that of basic, senior, and master. The level of degree is denoted by a star and wreath above the badge and is determined by years of service in the Air Force and total flight hours obtained. Typically, the Senior Badge is issued after seven years and the Master Badge is issued after fifteen.
Those receiving the Air Battle Manager Badge typically also qualify for the Weapons Director Badge.
