Al-Rahma mosque

The Al-Rahma mosque is on Hatherley Street, Liverpool, United Kingdom, and can hold up to 1,000 worshippers.
Liverpool boasts the first Mosque in England, which was opened at 8 Brougham Terrace by city solicitor and Muslim convert William Abdullah Quilliam on December 25, 1889. This was a product of the first Muslim community, that had become established in Liverpool in the 1880s. Many of the earliest members were lascars.
Quilliam also started the Crescent weekly journal, which ran from 1893–1908, and wrote The Faith Of Islam, the first book in English by a Muslim. The Liverpool Muslim Society was set up in 1953.
