Alexander Mackendrick
Alexander Mackendrick (September 8 1912 - December 22 1993) was a Scottish-American film director.
Mackendrick was born to Scottish parents in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in Scotland. He studied at the Glasgow School of Art and made films both in Britain and in Hollywood.
In 1969, he accepted the position as Dean of the Film Department of the California Institute of the Arts, an office he held until shortly before his passing at the ageof eighty-one in Los Angeles, California.
