Alice Bag Band

The Alice Bag Band was a punk band which appeared in the Penelope Spheeris film, "The Decline of Western Civilization," filmed in 1979. They were originally known as The Bags, but due to a dispute over the name with ex-member Pat Bag, the band was renamed Alice Bag Band by the film's producers. Members of the Bags included Craig Lee, Rob Graves (nee Ritter), Terry Graham, Pat Bag and Alice Bag. Recorded and released on Los Angeles based punk label Dangerhouse Records in 1978. All members went on to perform in other bands. Craig Lee became a music critic of some note.

Fans of the band acknowledge that they were far more powerful in their earlier version with Pat Bag on bass, Rob Graves having switched from lead guitar to bass in the wake of her departure. The Bags are best remembered for the ferocity of their hectic live performances and for being one of the most original and best of the California punk bands of the late 1970's.
