Altamont Commuter Express
The Altamont Commuter Express (also known as ACE) is a commuter train service in California connecting Stockton with San Jose. It is named for the Altamont Pass, through which it travels. The service was started on October 19, 1998 and is managed by the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission, with operations contracted to Herzog Transit Services . There are ten stops along its 86 mile (138 km) route, resulting in a total travel time of approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes end-to-end. Tracks are owned by Union Pacific. ACE utilizes Bombardier BiLevel Coaches.
