Amsterdam ArenA
The Amsterdam Arena is a football stadium in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is home to Ajax, traditionally one of the strongest club sides in the Netherlands, and indeed in all of Europe. The stadium also hosts the Amsterdam Admirals, an American football team that plays in NFL Europe.
The stadium, opened in 1996, is one of the first in the world to combine a retractable roof and a grass surface. Its all-seated capacity is approximately 51,000. The estimate cost to build the stadium is around 212 million Dutch guilders. The first match to be played since its inauguration is between the home team Ajax Amsterdam and AC Milan.
