Ancient universities of Scotland
The Ancient universities in Scotland comprise:
- The University of St Andrews (founded 1413)
- The University of Glasgow (1451)
- The University of Aberdeen (1495)
- The University of Edinburgh (1583)
Uniquely, the Ancient Universities award a Master's degree for Arts Undergraduate courses (known as Scottish MA); the degrees are equivalent to a Bachelor's degree elsewhere.
