Annual Dry Season Offensive
The Annual Dry Season Offensive is a type of low intensity warfare carried out by central states that for geographical, political, and historical reasons are engaged in ongoing wars with ethnic groups along their borders. Monsoon rains restrict troop movement and supply to the dry season, during which time the central government forces attempt to take as much territory and inflict as many casualties as possible.
The regimes of Burma and the Sudan engage in annual dry season offensives.
