Anonymous 4

Anonymous 4 is a female a cappella quartet, based in New York City. Their main performance genre is medieval music. The group is made up of Marsha Genensky, Susan Hellauer, Johanna Maria Rose, and Jacqueline Horner. Marsha grew up in California in the foothills of the Santa Monica mountains; Susan was born and raised in the Bronx, New York; Johanna grew up in the village of Grand-View-on-Hudson; and Jacqueline is from a village in Northern Ireland called Monkstown.

Anonymous 4 has performed in cities throughout North America, and are regulars at major international festivals.

The group takes its name from an anonymous music theorist of the late 13th century, Anonymous IV, who is the principal source on the two famous composers of the Notre Dame school, Leonin and Pérotin.
