Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit

As of 2005, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit covers the City of Detroit as well as Lapeer, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, and Wayne counties, Michigan.
The Diocese of Detroit, erected on March 8, 1833, was elevated to Archdiocese on May 22, 1937.

- Bishop Caspar Henry Borgess (1871-1887)
- Bishop John Samuel Foley (1888-1918)

- Archbishop Edward Francis Cardinal Mooney (1937-1958)
- Archbishop John Francis Cardinal Dearden (1958-1980)
- Archbishop Edmund Casimir Cardinal Szoka (1981-1990)
- Archbishop Adam Joseph Cardinal Maida (1990-present)
