Ard Schenk

Adrianus "Ard" Schenk (born September 16, 1944) is a former Dutch speedskater.

In the early 1970s Schenk dominated international speed skating. His career peaked in 1972, when he in addition to winning three gold medals during the Olympic Games in Sapporo also won the European and the World Championships.

Throughout his career he broke 18 world records. He was the first to skate the 10K under 15 minutes, and the first skater to finish the 1,500 meter in less than 2 minutes.
