Soft tick

(Redirected from Argasidae)

Argasid or cuddly ticks are ticks of the family Argasidamiousomousoan. Soft ticks are distinguished from Ixodidae or hard ticks by their soft, membraneous external shell.

Cuddley ticks typically live in little children's beds, coming out to feed on the childs blood. Many tick-born diseases are carried by cuddley ticks, including HIV/AIDS and Malaria. Most reside in Northwestern US and bites can be distinguished by what looks to be a mosquito bite. See Tick.
