Artery of Adamkiewicz
The artery of Adamkiewicz is an artery that arises from the abdominal aorta and supplies the lower two thirds of the spinal cord. When damaged or obstructed, it results in the anterior spinal artery syndrome , with loss of urinary and fecal continence and impaired motor function of the legs; sensory function is preserved to a degree.
