Arthur Schlesinger

Arthur Meier Schlesinger, Sr. (1888-1965) was an American historian. His son, Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr. is also a noted historian.
born in Xenia, Ohio
1910 graduated from Ohio State University
graduate study in history, Columbia University
taught at Ohio State University and the State University of Iowa
1924–1954 taught as a professor of history at Harvard University, where Schlesinger Library is named after him.
1928 became an editor of the New England Quarterly
