Arturo Alvarez
Arturo Alvarez (born June 28, 1985 in Houston, Texas) is an American soccer player, who currently plays for F.C. Dallas of Major League Soccer.
Arturo joined the league in 2003, signing a Project-40 contract, and was selected 13th overall in the 2003 MLS SuperDraft by the San Jose Earthquakes. In his first year, Arturo saw limited playing time, only registering 655 minutes, but while playing showed a technical ability rarely seen in MLS. Although he has also had difficulty earning playing time in 2004, Alvarez promises to be an exciting offensive talent in the league in years to come. However, the Quakes traded him to Dallas before the 2005 season, in a large deal that included Richard Mulrooney and Brad Davis.
