Ashikaga Yoshiakira

Ashikaga Yoshiakira (Jp. 足利 義詮) (July 4, 1330December 28, 1367) was the second shogun of the Ashikaga shogunate who reigned from 1358 to 1367 during the Muromachi period of Japan. Yoshiakira was the son of the founder and first shogun of the Muromachi shogunate, Ashikaga Takauji.

He spends it in Kamakura as a hostage of Hojo clan in childhood.Takauji of father cooperates with the Emperor Godaigo,When Kemmu Restoration of the Emperor Godaigo is started after Shogunate extinction, Yoshiakira is dispatched to Kamakura.

Takauji which grew away from Kemmu Restoration with a revolt of middle predecessors in the family line lets Kyoto establish the government.

When an internal disturbance of the government inside called disturbance of the Kano is caused, Yoshiakira is called back to Kyoto.Yoshiakira succeeded his father Takauji as Seii Taishogun after his death in 1358.

The Shogunate fights against south Imperial Court ,the politics of Yoshiakira was assisted by Hosokawa Yoriyuki of a governor-general(Kanrei).

A year after his death, he was succeeded by his son Ashikaga Yoshimitsu as the third shogun in 1368.

There is his cemetery in Tojiin of Kyoto.
