Aspect ratio
The aspect ratio of a two-dimensional shape is the ratio of its longest dimension to its shortest dimension.
The term is most commonly used with reference to:
- images (see aspect ratio (image))
- paper (see paper size)
- the wing-plans of aircraft or birds (see aspect ratio (wing)).
