Atef Ebeid
Atef Muhammad Ebeid (born April 14, 1932) is the former Prime Minister of Egypt. He was appointed on October 5, 1999, replacing Kamal Ganzouri, who resigned. Economic growth slowed and the price of living soared during his term, though he managed to transfer Egypt from a statist economy to a more capitalist system within a few years. Ebeid resigned on 9 July 2004 and was replaced by Ahmed Nazif.
