Atomic Raygun Attack

Atomic Raygun Attack!! is a Fredericksburg, Virginia-based rock band. The band was formed out of the remains of the Jeff Mullins Band (2000-2001) and has recorded an EP of rough demos along with a full length album under the name "Legend of the Last Raygunicorn". They claim to play a genre of music called "Pony-Core", an obvious play on the currently popular hardcore punk music of the last few years, but in reality just play rehashed Nerf Herder songs - badly. The band's songs and artwork are strung with strong homosexual innuendos and it is rumored that some if not all three of the members are maintaining relationships with one another. Examples of songs holding such depictions are: "The Milkshake", "Bessy the Cheeseburger" and "The Sign". When songs do drift away from such perversions they are usually related to violence or even worse - food. Atomic Raygun Attack is more of a mockery of itself than a band with live shows obnoxiously clustered with mistakes during songs, unintentional breaking of equipment and frequent rude outbursts at the audience. Often during their sets you can see crowds of people outside in an effort to ignore the performance of the "band"; even in sub-zero temperatures. Touring bands have been known to become frustrated with Atomic Raygun Attack for driving attendance levels of shows down and in more than one occasion physical conflict has been a result of the anger. Unfortunately though even with the stated facts of lowering attendance levels at shows Atomic Raygun Attack does seem to have the startings of a cult following. What shall come of this, no one really knows.
