Ator

Ator is a character featured in four European movies made in the 1980s. Three of the films were directed by Joe d'Amato; Ator was portrayed by Miles O'Keeffe in three of the four films. He first appeared in the 1982 film Ator l'invincibile, which was released as Ator, the Fighting Eagle in the United States. Next, in 1984 Ator appeared in Ator l'invincibile 2. This movie was known by several names, including Ator, the Blade Master, The Blade Master in the United States, and as Cave Dwellers when shown on television. In 1987, Ator appeared in the film Ator the Iron Warrior, which was also called The Iron Warrior; this was the only Ator film that was not directed and at least co-written by d'Amato. Finally, in 1990 came the last Ator movie, Quest for the Mighty Sword, once again written and directed by d'Amato, but this time starring Eric Allan Kramer instead of O'Keeffe as Ator. The movie's other titles are Ator l'invincible (yes, the same title as the first movie), The Hobgoblin, and in what might well be a comment on the previous movie, Ator III: The Hobgoblin.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 featured Cave Dwellers in episode 301. The episode is considered one of the better episodes in the series, mainly because the film is considered to be so bad.

Ator, to some degree, copies Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Conan films that he starred in during the 1980s. He is a thickly muscled man who at the same time is very intelligent. He has a vast store of knowledge in a variety of areas such as medicine, forging weapons, martial arts, and the principles of flight, among other talents.
