Autocar
(Redirected from Autocar magazine)
Autocar is a British automobile magazine. It is the oldest surviving automobile magazine in the world, having begun publishing in 1898 as The Autocar. It claims to have invented the road test in 1928, sampling the Austin Seven Gordon England Sunshine Saloon. It continues publishing weekly to this day, with only strikes in the 1970s having hampered its frequency. In 1988, it absorbed its long-time rival Motor magazine, founded in 1904.
In the 2000s, it has further licensed its name to other countries' publishers. India and Malaysia have their own editions of Autocar.
