Autonomy Systems
Autonomy Systems (AUTN Nasdaq, AUTN.L LSE) is a software company specialising in the handling of unstructured information.
Founded in Cambridge, England in 1996 by Dr Michael Lynch as a spinoff from Cambridge Neurodynamics Ltd, it uses pattern recognition algorithms based on Bayesian Statistics and Information Theory to produce a variety of products. In 2001 it was a member of the FTSE 100, and its headquarters are in San Francisco.
Autonomy's software is used by many of the largest global corporations, and the U.S. Government such as Department of Homeland Security. Greece reported they will start using it against their domestic terrorism before the start of OS-2004.
