Avon Old Farms is an all boys boarding school located in Avon, Connecticut with the goal of being the best all boys preparatory school in the country. It was founded by Theodore Pope Riddle, a Lusitania survivor and a master architect. It opened in 1927 and closed for a period during WWII to become a hospital for blinded soldiers. The current headmaster is Mr. Kenneth H. LaRocque, an Exeter and Harvard graduate.

Avon has a variety of students from all over the country. Best known for the great athletics, Avon is improving in the academic arena as well. Noted alumni are former major league pitcher Juan Nieves, NHL Star Brian Leetch, folksinger Pete Seeger, and first round NHL draft pick in 2002 Christopher Higgins. Chris Hetherington is currently playing in the NFL. Avon has won more New England Division 1 Prep School Hockey Championships then any other school by winning their fourth title in 2004.
