B874 road
The B874 road is entirely within the traditional county of Caithness, in Highland Scotland.
The road runs generally west/northwest from the A99 at Lochshell (), which is about 2 kilometres from Wick, to Halkirk (), and then generally north to the A9 in Thurso (ND116683). It runs past or through Watten Mains (ND252561), Gillock Mains (ND211596), Georgemas (ND153607) and Glengolly (ND102659).
Few travellers will use the full length of the road for any one journey. The A882-A9 route is much more convenient for Wick-Thurso journeys and, as the A9, this route crosses the B874 itself at Georgemas. The B874 is more important as a means of access to villages and hamlets away from the A-classified roads.
The B874 is crossed also, via staggered junctions, by the B870 at Watten Mains, and has another junction with the B870 at Glengolly.
