The initialism BFG expands to several terms:

  • Big Friendly Giant: The BFG is a children's book by Roald Dahl.
  • the former German Bank für Gemeinwirtschaft (BfG), today belonging to the group of the Stockholms Enskilda Bank (SEB)
  • the tire manufacturer BF Goodrich.
  • the French motorcycle manufacturer BFG , which used Flat engines from the Citroën models GS and 2CV. The company name comes from the first letters of the names of the founding engineers Louis Boccardo , Dominique Favario and Thierry Grange .
  • BFG Technologies , an American graphics card manufacturer.
  • the British Forces Germany.
  • a series of fictional weapons used in first-person shooter computer games:
    • the fictional weapon BFG9000 of the classic first-person shooter Doom. (BFG stands for Big F***ing Gun.)
    • the fictional weapon BFG10K of the first-person shooter Quake. (Quake II and Quake III Arena, described in the game manual as a big, freakin' gun.)
    • Similarly, it can also be used to refer to weapons of similar size and/or destructive capability.
