BIMST-EC
BIMST-EC Acronym for Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand - Economic Cooperation. An New regional group which consist of countries around Bay of Bengal.
The first summit of this group will be held at Bangkok, Thailand. It will be attended by Dr. Manmohan Singh of India. The name of the organisation could be changed at the summit and could be called Bay of Bengal Community . BIMST-EC was established in 1997 as a sub-regional grouping to bridge South Asia with Southeast Asia.
