Babylon (program)
Babylon is an translation utlity program and also information source tool.
The program works with a help of OCR agent. When an user clicks on a text with a right mouse button or combination of it with other key, babylon window appears and translates clicked word or describes it. Its appears to be very convenient and fast way for translating any particular Windows document.
A translation available on 13 languages. An additional information comes from various dictionaries that are produced by community of users. There is also small version of Encyclopaedia Britannica available which gives short and fast description of any word. The program also integrates Microsoft's Text-to-speech agent which enables to hear the proper pronunciations of words.
Babylon produced by an Israeli company named Babylon, which is a branch company of Formula . There are 26 million registered users of it all around the world. The company started its production in 1997 and was given Babylon translator as unlimited free trial (practically for free) until 2001, gaining a huge success by its offer. Then it started to collect a payment. Today Babylon's price is 50$.
