Back for the Attack
Back for the Attack is a 1988 album by heavy metal band Dokken. The album charted at #8 on the billboard US charts, selling over two million copies in the US and over 4 million copies worldwide.
Because of this album, Dokken never lost credibility with true metal fans, as this album proved to be Dokken's darkest album. It was thought that, after the high commercial success of the preceding album, Under Lock and Key, Dokken would take the commercial route like other bands of that era. But Dokken proved their detracters wrong, by releasing this highly acclaimed dark and heavy album.
This album contained few ballads, to be exact, just one, that being the Nightmare On Elm Street soundtrack Dream Warriors. And this album contained even fewer fillers, that is, none. Every track became a classic. The other singles released were the dark classic Heaven Sent & the melodic hit Burning Like A Flame. However, the two highlights of the album were the amazing masterpiece Kiss Of Death, which is considered as one of the greatest heavy metal songs ever written and the George Lynch instrumental Mr Scary, where a barrage of Classic metal riffs and sizzling lead breaks intertwine among themselves.
