Bartek (oak)
- For alternative meanings of Bartek, see: Bartek (disambiguation).
Bartek is an oak, the most famous tree in Poland. It grows in Zagnańsk in Świętokrzyskie Mountains, and is about 1200 years old.
The 30 metre tall tree measures 13.5 metres round its girth near the ground and its crown spread is about 40 metres. The legend states that Jan III Sobieski, who rested under this tree on his way back from the Battle of Vienna, hid a Turkish sabre, a harquebus and a bottle of wine inside the oak.
