'Battleground' is a horror story by Stephen King published in 'Night Shift' collection.
The main character is a professional killer who has recently assassinated his next target, an owner of a toy factory. While he is staying at a hotel, a package arrives from the wife of his victim containing some toy soldiers. When he opens the package, the soldiers come out and attack him in force with their latest, albeit miniature, combat technology including field artillery and helicopters. It is a battle he almost wins, but it just so happens that his attackers have a toy nuclear weapon...
