Beckenham Junction station
Beckenham Junction station is an important railway station and a tram terminus in Beckenham in south London. It is in the London Borough of Bromley and Travelcard Zone 4.
The station is found at the end of the town's high street. Rail services served from the station include those between Kent to London Victoria as well as to local stations in South London such as Orpington, Bromley and Brixton. Eurostar also currently passes through Beckenham Junction although it does not stop at the station. The station itself has four platforms.
Just outside the railway station building is the terminus for Tramlink Route 2 services from East and West Croydon.
History
The station was opened by the London, Chatham and Dover Railway (LCDR) on 1 January 1857, originally as the terminus for the line from Lewisham; it bcame a junction on 7 July 1858 when the Bromley Junction (north of Norwood Junction) - Bickley line was opened by the LCDR.
