Beriz Belkic
Beriz Belkić, former Member and Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, since 2001.
Born on September 8, 1946, Belkic graduated from the faculty of economics with the University of Sarajevo, in his hometown. He served on various administrative positions, on municipal, cantonal and state level.
Following the elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belkic was elected as a parliament member in the Bosnia-Herzegovina House of Representatives. On March 30th, 2001, he was elected by the Parliament to replace Halid Genjac as substitute member of the Presidency, following the withdrawal of Alija Izetbegovic.
He has been a founding member of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina lead by former Bosnian Prime Minister, Haris Silajdzic .
Belkic is married to a French teacher, and has a son living in the United States.
